Senior Data Scientist

Paul is passionate about extracting valuable insights from data. With a background in economics, statistics, and machine learning, he has worked across diverse methodologies and in various data-centric fields such as finance and retailing at IKEA as a senior data scientist.

As a machine learning researcher at the Finnish Centre for Artificial Intelligence, Paul focuses on advancing foundation models, specifically flexible inference schemes. He holds a PhD in Bayesian machine learning from Aalto University, where his research was published in top machine learning conferences, including ICML, ICLR, and NeurIPS.

Guided by a research philosophy rooted in practical applications, Paul values collaborative efforts that integrate real-world challenges into the research process. He actively seeks partnerships in application areas and is driven to identify and address existing methodological gaps.
