Senior Behavioral Scientist


Harri is a Professor of Consumer Behavior and leads the consumption research group at the University of Vaasa. With a 20-year research career, he has focused on studying human behavior related to food consumption. His primary academic interest lies in the interrelationships between values, emotions, motives, and taste perceptions in food consumption, as well as consumer-oriented food product development.

Harri has also been involved in studies addressing tailored health interventions, cross-cultural issues, consumer perception of products, brands, and commercial environments, and sustainable consumption as status signaling. He has published in several reputable journals and has served as a responsible leader of several large research and development projects involving close collaboration with the private food sector and expert organizations.
